Usher attends his New Look Foundation 2012 World Leadership Conference

“I want to show the youth, by way of example, that you can do something positive and be successful,” said R&B artist and record producer, Usher at the New Look Foundation’s annual World Leadership Conference.

Usher heads a non-profit organization in Duluth, Georgia called New Look Foundation – an organization that was established in 1999 to ensure young people’s success throughout the world by certifying them in four leadership pillars – talent, education, career and service.

According to The Grio, From June 19th to the 23rd, New Look Foundation hosted their third annual World Leadership Conference at Emory University in Atlanta. Throughout the five days of this conference, the New Look youth were given the opportunity to visit major corporate sites including GE, Georgia Power, and AT&T as part of the event’s “Powered By Service” training. Crawford & Company, an Atlanta based company, and the world’s largest independent provider of claims management solutions, also participated in a segment of the conference called, Expressions on Thursday, June 21st. Several of the company’s employees spoke to the youth about obstacles they’ve overcome, and the Crawford & Company’s worldwide service day.

The World Leadership Conference included mentoring an estimated 1,000 middle school students from around Atlanta during the Community Leadership Day. This conference brought together celebrities, corporate leaders, and politicians with 150 youth leaders representing eight different counties.
