21st ANNUAL BROADWAY FALL FESTIVAL

The 21st ANNUAL BROADWAY FALL FESTIVAL, sponsored by the N.A.A.C.P. Roy Wilkins Center, will be held on Sunday, October 14th on Broadway from 86th to 96th Streets from 11 AM on, rain or shine.
Over 400 crafts persons, antiques dealers and artists will participate in the event. Among the highlights will be special exhibits of handcrafts from third world nations, including macrame, ceramics, jewelry, weaving and woodcarving. There will also be food booths from over 22 countries, including a special Japanese-Korean block consisting of 30 restaurants on the block between 93rd and 94th Streets. There will also be a special childrens block between 92nd and 93rd Streets.
The highlight of the Festival's entertainment will be a free concert on the 96th Street stage from 12:00 to 5:00 P.M. featuring the Michael Grey Ensemble. Michael Grey, an accomplished trombonist, has worked with his father, world famous Al Grey, as well as with other headliners such as Lionel Hampton, Wynton Marsalis, Dizzy Gillespie and Jon Faddis. Michael Grey has appeared locally, nationally and internationally. The Roy Wilkins Center serves the Upper West Side and East Side communities. In addition to other programs, it has an after school tutorial and mentoring program in which parents and members of the Youth Council tutor students from P.S. 75. The Festival is co-sponsored by Symphony Space.
