Wintley Phipps, the most watched Gospel artist on You Tube and who has sung for five U.S. presidents, will perform a free concert on behalf of The Salvation Army on Friday, February 4.  

The Grammy nominated Phipps is an internationally acclaimed recording artist who has appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Saturday Night Live.  He is also Founder, President and Chief  Executive Officer of the U.S. Dream Academy, a non-profit national after-school program that provides mentoring and tutoring nationwide to children of incarcerated parents.  

Born in Trinidad and Tobago and raised in Quebec, Phipps is an ordained minister who has served as pastor of several Washington D.C. area churches.

He was nominated for Grammy awards in 1988 and 1989, and performed at various time for Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

More recently, Phipps has attracted an entire new generation of fans as his performance of  ‘Amazing Grace’ at Carnegie Hall, which has been more than 6 ½ million hits, making him the most watched Gospel music artist on YouTube.
