Rae Town, Kingston, Jamaica Meets Harlem - Starting this June 16th, Jerk To Go™ will be launching its inaugural pop-up restaurant on the terrace of the trendy MIST Harlem. Jerk To Go™ will showcase its eclectic, jerk-infused menu paired with the backdrop of 90’s urban Jamaica. Accomplished Artist Michael Escoffery will exhibit custom designed renditions of Rae Town’s look and feel throughout the space. The infamous Rae Town vibe was built around the urban downtown Rae Town, where folks from suburban Kingston flocked just for the vibe. Jerk To Go™ in Harlem aims to bring downtown uptown once again.
“We’re thrilled for the opportunity MIST Harlem has given us to be able to open this pop-up restaurant for the summer,” says Jamaican-born Founder of Jerk To Go™, Marie Walker. “The diverse, culturally rich location of Harlem is ideal to expose and acquaint members of the community not only to Jamaican cuisine but to the historical connection between Jamaicans and Harlemites."
The menu will showcase small plates starting from $6 and large plates at $14, in addition to side dishes and exotic mixed drinks. A sampling of the menu includes hearty Jerk Chicken rice and peas bowls, jerk infused wraps, Jerk nachos and of course, the headliner—jerk chicken.
Jerk To Go™ is located at 46 W 116th Street on the terrace of the MIST Harlem. Jerk To Go™ will be open Tuesday to Friday 4 PM to midnight; Saturday, noon to midnight and Sunday, noon to 10pm. Brunch will be served on Sundays. For more information, please call 646 738 3049 or visit us at www.jerktogo.org.
The idea of Jerk To Go™ is a Jamaican Jerk retail food and franchise concept designed specifically for locations in urban communities and vacation destinations.
